The Liebster Award

Hey guys, so, this is pretty crazy. I have not been doing this long at all, my first post was back in June and a wonderful owl-obsessed math-nerd that whose blog I love nominated me for the Liebster Award. The owl-obsessed math-nerd in question is the lovely Naemi from a book owl’s corner. She reads and writes, she’s also hilarious and I love reading her posts so you all need to go over to her blog!

What Is The Liebster Award?

β€œThe Liebster Award is an award that exists only on the internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.”

That and more information about the Liebster Award can be found on The Global Aussie.

Questions from Naemi

Question 1: What is a trope you can’t help but love, even though it’s overused?
I love a good chosen one trope, it’s overdone and because of that we’re getting more and more badly done chosen one stories which is unfortunate but when it’s done right, it’s soooo good.

Question 2: Describe your perfect quarantine day!
Actual quarantine, maybe. I live in a country where we haven’t had any quarantine or any real restrictions. So my perfect quarantine day would be being in quarantine.

Question 3: If you could have any fictional pet, what would you choose?
Saphire from Eragon.
I’m going to say something many of us don’t like but I’ve only seen the film Eragon. It makes me a lot and I don’t think I’ll be able to handle reading the book. I’ll be even more emotional then. Even though I’ve only seen the film so I don’t know her whole story or personality, I’ve always wanted her as a pet, or even a friend. She was beautiful and her attitude was brilliant, I love her.

Question 4: What is your favorite and least favorite thing about blogging?
Favourite thing: Blogging, I love writing and I do write short stories but that’s not the only writing I do here, even this post is writing and I love it. Doing tags and reviews and short stories, it’s all a part of me and my thoughts and I love being able to share them and I love scaring and creeping people out with my stories, it makes me happy.
Least favourite thing: I haven’t been doing this long enough to really have a proper answer to this, I haven’t had to deal with something bad or annoying so my least favourite thing isn’t even caused by blogging but just by me which is not being able to get my words out properly. I can think of something I want to write but when I read what I wrote, it’s not phrased correctly, it’s either conveying something very different from what I want or it just makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

Question 5: If you were stranded on a deserted island all alone, which fictional character and which author would you choose to join you and why?
I would choose to have Buckbeak and Hagrid join me. Because Buckbeak could fly the both of us off and I’d need Hagrid to help me get Buckbeak to agree to let me fly on his back.

Question 6: Describe your favorite book using emojis or GIFs, but don’t tell us what it is. Let’s see if someone can guess it in the comments!
This one I haven’t spoken about on here yet but will be in the future so good luck! I’m sorry for the gifs, it was very hard to find anything that would work for it so they don’t fit too perfectly but if you know what it is, hopefully it makes sense.πŸ˜…

Question 7: If you could have any character from a book teach you one skill, what would you learn and who would be your mentor?
I would like Kate Daniels from The Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews teach me how to fight with a sword, yes she has so many more powers and actual magic but knowing how to use a sword is something I’ve always been impressed by.

Question 8: Have you ever dressed up as a character from a book?
That I remember, no. On Halloween as a child I would always dress up as a witch every year but never one from a book. Now, I have many book characters (and musical theatre characters) I would love to dress up as for Halloween but also just for fun.

Question 9: What book are you proudest of forcing on other people? (For their own good, of course…)
My favourite book which is part of question number 6 so I guess I can’t actually say it here since you’re meant to guess it in the comments but I will be doing a review on it and probably mentioning it in every book related blog/tag I do in the future so don’t worry, soon it’ll be all you hear about.

Question 10: What is your favorite blog post that you’ve ever written and why?
My short story Little Girl, it’s not the most recent but I feel like it’ll always be my favourite. I loved the idea of it, I loved the whole process of trying to sort out what should actually be a part of the story and what shouldn’t, I loved the story and what happened. I would like to rewrite it one day, maybe, and add more to it and make it better but for now, I love it how it is. I think it’s a good story.

Question 11: Which post that someone else wrote have you enjoyed recently?
This is one of A Book Owl’s Corner posts, it was done on the 7th of August and I thought it was hilarious, Dating Tips for Book Nerds.

That was the tag. The questions where great and lots of fun (apart from the really hard second question πŸ˜‹), thank you so much for nominating me, Naemi, hopefully I could answer these well for you.

I don’t have that many that I follow or that I know so I can’t do the nominate 11 people but I can nominate these 5 lovely people:

Now, the slightly harder part of ending this post, my 11 questions to you:
1: What has been your favourite book that a family member recommended to you?
2: What is a meal from a book that you want to try?
3: Have you ever made a food or drink you read from a book? (like Butterbeer)
4: Which book character would you hate to be trapped in lockdown with?
5: If you could rewrite Twilight in another genre which would you choose? And do you choose it because you think it will suit the story or because it will be hilariously bad?
6: Which book would you recommend someone you don’t like?
7: What’s your least favourite trope (and why is it love triangles)?
8: What’s your favourite means of transportation you’ve read in a book?
9: Which film adaption do you prefer over the book?
10: If your favourite character from your favourite book and your least favourite character from your least favourite got into a fight, who would win?
11: Which horror book bad guy do you think you could defeat and survive the story of? And how would you do it?

This was a lot of fun to do and I hope you had fun read it! Let me know what your answers are to some of these and what you agreed with me on, or disagreed with me on. πŸ“

  1. I’m so happy you did these; I loved your answers! 😊 Now that you’ve put that option out there, I would love to take Hagrid and Buckbeak to the island! And Saphira would make a great pet! (Though I’ve only read the first two books and never seen the movie…) I have no idea what those GIFs mean, though πŸ˜…
(Okay, and I’m really looking forward to hearing about people’s Twilight rewrites now πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)

    1. I’m glad you liked it! I figured Hagrid and Buckbeak would be the best people to be on such an island with haha I know a lot of people didn’t like the film but I do recommend it because Saphira is beautiful. The gifs were afwul haha it was so hard to find them, I googles terrorist, white terrorist, kidnapping gifs and got nothing for either so I really had to improvise and pick certain scenes from the book which was very hard to do πŸ˜‚ Want to know which book it is? I don’t think many people will know it.

      1. The book is called Mine by Robert R. McCammon. It’s about a former terrorist member kidnapping a baby from the hospital 3 days after it was born and the mother fed up with the lack of help from the police so she goes after the terrorist to get her baby back. It’s super intense start to finish, I love it!
