The Sunshine Blogger Award

I’ve been nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award by Riddhi over at Whispering Stories. Her questions are pretty great, pretty hard so let’s get to them!

What is The Sunshine Blogger Award?
The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community!

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Answer 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Riddhi’s Questions

Question 1: What is the one thing you like about my blog? What is the one thing you don’t? (Sorry, I just really want feedback from my readers)
I love that you want feedback and to improve but also, I really love that you also do film reviews and also blogs comparing books to their film adaptions, I think that’s really cool.
As for what I don’t like, I’m being very picky here because there isn’t really anything I don’t like but how dark the background/layout is, your posts and personality seem so bright and I don’t feel like you get fully portrayed in your blogs colour scheme.

Question 2: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Hopefully I will have my dream job, mortician and maybe even be close to opening my own funeral home?

Question 3: What do you think will be your next 5-star read?

The book I have mentioned three blogs in a row now without having read it yet…Sorry about that….

Question 4: One piece of advice you wish you had when you started blogging?
Write and read the things you want to write about and the books you want to read. I had watched a lot of BookTube and read a lot of book blogs and they spoke often of the newest releases and the most popular books and I thought I’d have to too, even if I didn’t want to or didn’t have a huge interest to read them but that’s not what I have to do.

My favourite book, Mine by Robert R. McCammon, isn’t a very known books and it’s not a new or recently released book yet you guys read that review, you’ve also read my short stories and other posts that I’ve wanted to do and I really love that, thank you guys! So, basically, the advice is write and read what you want. People will still like it and be interested.

Question 5: How do you treat a reading slump?
Reread a favourite book or series then I usually add another book half way through the reread. If that doesn’t work then just do other things I enjoy like write, draw or watch films, eventually you’ll miss it enough for your mind to let you read again after the break you’ve given it.

Question 6: Do you aspire to write a book someday?
Yes, I write short stories here but I did start a series called New Life that has 3 parts and I want to turn it into a novel instead of continuing with it here because that’s just too many parts.

Question 7: One person who inspires you?
My mother.

Question 8: What book or book series were you not expecting to love/hate?

This book is a poetry book that I had borrowed from the library, I had borrowed one or two poetry books before this one that were good but I rated only 3 stars and this one I rated 4 stars on Goodreads. I really enjoyed the poems in this book, there were lots of really beautiful ones.

Question 9: What is one thing that you love about the book blogging community?
The people are amazing, their tastes are very varied so you can pretty easily find someone who likes what you like and get books recommended from their posts and they’re really easy to talk to, everyone who I have spoken to has been very kind.

Question 10: What are your top 3 favorite fictional cities/kingdoms/regions?
Middle Earth, I used to have a Middle Earth map poster but it fell off the wall and broke. Does Camp Half Blood count? Because then I choose that too.
The world in the Kate Daniels Series, it takes place on Earth but there is magic that comes in waves. You have technology waves where phone and cars work and magic doesn’t work during this time and you have magic waves where magic is at it’s strongest and no technology works so you have to use cars with a magical motor.

Question 11: A GIF that describes your current read?

The people I nominate are:
I’m not sure if you’ve done this one yet and I’ve just forgotten, if so, I’m sorry. Also, once again, ignoring the rule of how many people to tag and only doing three, no one I follow really does tags so I’m sorry for that too!

  1. Naemi, A Book Owl’s Corner (I know one of you has quite the list of tags to catch up on so sorry for piling on another)
  2. Elaine Howlin, Elaine Howlin
  3. Ailish Sinclair, Ailish Sinclair

My Questions:
Question 1. If you were an Animagus what animal would you want to be?
Question 2. Name one book or book series you would like to have a tv series or film adaption.
Question 3. Name one book or book series you think should not have had a tv series or film adaption.
Question 4. What’s been your favourite read this year?
Question 5. What tv show are you binging on Netflix or whatever streaming site you use?
Question 6. If you could speak to one type of animal which one would you want to be able to talk to?
Question 7. 3 books you regret buying?
Question 8. Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Question 9. Do you drink or eat while reading?
Question 10. Do you read during day or night?
Question 11. Do you follow a tbr list or are you a mood reader?

That’s all for this post, thank you so much for reading, I hope you liked it and let me know in the comments your answers to some of these questions πŸ“

  1. Hey Meena! Lovely answers, I enjoyed reading them! And thanks for the feedback! So many people have told me to change the background of my blog to something lighter but I am so reluctant to do that. So, I am probably gonna keep the background black but switch to a lighter featured image. Also, Camp-Half Blood is one of my fav fictional places too! And your questions are amazing as well. Also, sorry if you thought my questions were difficultπŸ˜…πŸ˜…

    1. A lighter feature image could do the trick, sorry we’re all nagging on your dark background πŸ˜‚ I’m glad you enjoyed reading my answers and yes~ I would go to Camp Half Blood right now, it’s beautiful and fun, well, seems to be πŸ˜‚

  2. Argh – I just realized my first comment never showed up here! Why??? Didn’t you say the same thing happened with a like on one of my posts? πŸ˜… I will never understand WordPress…
But, anyway – thanks for the nomination! Your questions are so fun and you might be getting answers sooner than you think πŸ˜πŸ˜‰ And I think Camp Half-Blood totally counts! I’m with you on that one for sure 😊 Also, are you reading Dracula, or is that too basic of a guess?

      1. Right! They’ve never done that before, I even follow you and like and comment on so much of your stuff, you like and comment on so much of mine and I always reply, never just deleted it. I don’t get where WordPress thought a comment from you would be spam or unwanted πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
